Why are they speccing a brand new truck with crappy rotating beacons nowadays? :S This should have a full-width lightbar.

I have to agree with the previous Post.
Those little blue Rotaing Beacons seem at odds with the High Visibility Stripes, and all the Safety Mirrors.

Great photo.

I remember when we first got those small blue beacons over here in the early 1960s we thought they were marvelous - as they replaced two small flashing amber lights over the windscreen !

Hello Ian:

How bright were those flashing amber lights - did they "wig-wag" eg alternately
flash on and off ?

Was there anything displayed from the rear of the truck, or just the usual tail-lights ?

Just wondering, as I have only seen the lights on photos of preserved trucks of the period.

Regards, from Canada,

Hi Pat,
Good grief no, they didn't wig-wag and were only the size of tail lights to start with ! I'll dig a photo of a Northumberland example out and post it - then you'll see just how dire they were. There was nothing displayed to the rear.
