These Bedford Control Units were issued to brigades across he country for the Auxilary Fire Service (AFS) can find no record of this one being issued so may have been one of the reserve fleet that was kept till a few years ago. We had one at St.Helens but on a 4x2 chassis
Tayside had one which was painted red and served at station 01 Blackness road for a number of years and was replaced by a 1980 W reg Dodge WTL which was converted to a control unit in brigade workshops.
