And, must not forget the Mack Bull-Dog mascot, firmly in place, on his little rail - was that an "after-market" item, I wonder ?
Pat I think the addition of the Mack 'Bulldog' signifies that the unit is powered by a Mack engine , as supposed to say a Detroit diesel or Cummings , Mack would fit what ever the customer wanted but the Mack engine was a good motor and most Fire Depts stuck with the 'MaxiDyne' engine which was Mack's own make.
Agree thats what I was informed as well but if this Mack is ex NYFD then I was under the impression that NY stuck with Mack's own motor ....perhaps not maybe they went with Detroit Diesel for this batch of Macks .
