I was Chief Fire Officer and was instrumental in spec'ing these vehicles. The pump was built in the USA and had to be altered on arrival to suit our needs and was carried out in Nazareth Illit, Israel. The rescue unit was designed in Israel, Again I was required to spec it and made many trips to the factory to liaise with them. Fund was always an issue at the time to to constraints from Rome. Unfortunately I was medivac home shortly around a year later.

Your mistaken Ken, these were not delivered until 2000. I was CFO of both Camps at the time of ordering. We ordered the GMC and Rescue vehicles and also Fast Attack GMC for the North Camp. These replaced older pumps at both Camps and the old French vehicle we took over in the late 80's.in NC

Hi guys,
This is very interesting reading about former fire chiefs. I'm currently considering a Sub' 'O' post at south camp. Could any of you shine some light on life out there for me please?
