1958 Dennis Metz turntable ladder, ex Metropolitan Fire Brigade in Brisbane (Qld), car 49. Based at Ann St Fire Station within the heart of Brisbane, it was decommissioned in 1984. Whilst it needs a bit of a freshen up it will be restored soon. Now preserved at the Fire Brigades Historical Society (Qld) museum at Old Petrie Town, Kurwongbah, Qld.

I remember riding an identical TL as this in Belfast as a firemen in the 70's.The crew cab at the rear was semi-covered until workshops enclosed it completely for crew safety during riot situations in Belfast at that time.

Stephen, the very same TL that you talk about ( OZ9607 ) sits in my shed - see picture 1801. It still has the fully covered crew compartment at the rear although the internal bomb blast/brick protection screens have been removed!

I remember this one well. I did my height test on it in the lower yard in Ann st. I rode a few turn outs on it as well
