This is an M-X-2 not an MXZ. Serial # 1319. This truck was once owned by my brother and myself many years ago. It was recently sold (2008)to a gentleman in Minnesota, I think. Would like to know the name and location of the new owner if anyone knows. Thanks.
Dear Ed Hass, Warren Lun here. I believe this is Serial #1319, M-X-2. Ex- DEtroit Fire Dept. Restored by Andy Swift. It is my old fire truck. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think I am.
Would the new owner or any one knowledgeable of this trucks ownership and specific location please contact me as I would like to keep track of its location and if it is for sale.
I visited Andy Swift at his workshop in Hope Maine a few years ago just to see the Ahrens Fox's that were under and awaiting restoration, a variety of other appliances were scattered about the barn as well from the 1920's onwards agreat place and Andy and his team are great restorers, I wish I could afford one, a Ahrens Fox that is.
Piston pumper - great for "drafting" - from a natural water source.
Roto-Ray - 3 red revolving lights behind driver's seat - which is mid-way along
the chassis, and quite the experience to steer.
Beautiful machine.
