Supplied new in 1996, Chassis No:R3112C14/236, the
colour scheme is very similiar to two batches
supplied to Kent F.B.in 1995.

i spent time at the Kronenburg factory in Holland in the mid 90s and at that time they were building a lot of domestic appliances on Dennis chassis and some looked decidedly European and some looked quite english. just my observations hope it helps .

The Netherlands have a fine history of attractive Dennises, but usually on the lighter chassis than the Sabre. They've probably got more than the UK now! Lol! This is a particularly fine looking example. Great photo.

Well most of the Dennis Fire engines are ageing and now be replaced by more standard engines such as DAF, Volvo, Mercedes and MAN. Not much fun for the photographers :-(

There definatly more than 2 sabres in The Netherlands.

You can do an advanced search on this site and find three Sabres in the Netherlands, though only 2 have JDC bodywork. One is Rosenbauer. There are loads of Rapiers.

The Netherlands was one of a very few meaningful European export markets for Dennis, mainly because there was only one domestic chassis manufacturer, DAF - and Dutch fire services were used to buying imports, including a lot of American chassis for many years.

They also sold a few to Belgium, for the same reason - they could not buy Belgian because there were no local manufacturers.

In Germany - home to a vast domestic fire appliance building industry - Dennis only ever sold two units, none to France or in Southern Europe and a mere handful to Scandinavia.
