i would much rather climb in and out this with a set on my back than a scania anyday, but then i dont buy fire appliances only work in them !

Aww, Louis, you could have had everyone madly looking all over for "Norg County" in Britain; if you had "accidentally" left out the Netherlands info....

I presume the "Fire Brigade Norg" signs were made up at the factory; and no one wants to scrape them off - actually, something different for the Norg FB chaps, with a very British engine. Good to see the Dennis so appreciated.

I know this vehicle. It even has an american-style sirene instead of the official Dutch 2-tone sirene.

I remember first seeing a Dennis Rapier in Dutch livery on the BBC 1 TV series CASUALTY in October 1997 which was a special episode shot in the Netherlands. The engine DID have BRANDWEER on the front and it was fitted with a German sounding Martinshorns which were the standard fittings on Dutch fire engines in the final quarter of the last century anyway and some also using British Two-Tones instead of Martinshorns. Rapiers were also to be found in use with the Brandweer at Antwerp in neighbouring Belgium.

Also in Prague and a couple in Germany, of all places! An outstanding design and apparently well liked by its crews, but let down by a terribly ineffective after sales service and spare parts situation in these European countries, which was also a source of much criticism even in the UK.
