Fife Fire & Rescue Service Emergency Support Unit

Volvo FL614 Emergency Support Unit from Fife Fire and Rescue Service. Before I went for the ferry in Rosyth I passed the fire station. No personnel at the station, but this unit was parked perfectly outside.
Thanks guys :-) !!

Is this machine still on the run?. if it is, will it be moving to the new station at pitreavie?

Added by Stevie Murray on 03 March 2008.
Yeh its still on the run but wont go to pitreavie will be replaced with a command pod and the decon gear will probably go to pod as well

Do I take it that Rosyth and Dunfimline are being replaced by the one station at Pitreavie?

Added by Andrew Middleton on 30 April 2010.
they have been replaced by new A1

Didn't know it was on the cards. Nobody said last year when I was up there.

Added by Andrew Middleton on 02 May 2010.
Hi Andrew, this was on the cards for quite a while due to unsuitable premises i.e dated buildings. Both the old Dunfermline and Rosyth stations are now boarded up and for sale.

Thanks Steve. Hope the Dunfirmline station dosen't get knocked down. Kirkcaldy station is a classic design. Let's hope that stays too.

Added by Andrew Middleton on 02 May 2010.
Yes Kirkcaldy was opened in the 1930's and housed a Dennis N type, a street escape ladder and my 1933 Leyland cub FK1 FG 9026 (see picture 10528) its weird to walk into the station look and at the modern appliances in the bays and imagine these old appliances in the same appliance room with very little alterations having to be made !

The ESU is now at Methil fire station. It no longer functions as a command support vehicle, only for decontamination.
