This is a standard 16 ton Cargo chassis cab, as Ford did not continue to offer specialized fire appliance chassis after the Cargo replaced the D series.

It would have carried around 4,500 litres, although the tall, narrow tank looks like a design which would not have contributed to its handling and road holding!

As specific fire appliance chassis were no longer offered, only a few Cargos were operated by fire services in the UK and the rest of Europe.

But they were very popular with fire services in both Brazil and Turkey, where the Cargo was locally built - and in several other countries which imported their trucks.
