For many years Berlin has operated MAN units exclusively, at least since 1962. Occasionally a few other brands have turned up in the city, but - except for specials like heavy cranes - the city has always gone back to MAN. A recent development of course is the acquisition of electric trucks, now five Rosenbauer pumpers and one Volvo logistics unit. It will be interesting to see what happens if and when MAN gets around to building electrics.
Rob - Berliner Feuerwehr operated 40 Mercedes 1222 low heigh/entry 'LHF' pumpers in the 80s & 90s as well as a number of Mercedes 1222 'DL' turntable ladders.

Thanks Dan. My point was that the city reverted back to MAN after buying other brands at times. The original low profile Merecedes. 1222 rescue pumpers include one example which is on this site.
