Leyland FK6 PE Wokingham AMO654 restored
1st July 2024 we received back AMO654 after a long 3 years of it being restored. Lots of work carried out on it, engine over hauled, radiator fixed, electric, upholstered, new tyres, re sprayed, brass polished. Now would just like to find out all of her history.

AMO 654 was purchased in 1937 by the Borough of Wokingham, following NFS service it was absorbed into Berks&Reading F.B. at Stn 10 Wokingham. It went out of service about 1965 when stationed at Stn 21 Wallingford ( then in Berkshire) when a conrod went through the side of the engine. It was used as a reserve to cover Stn 1 Caversham Rd Readings 1951 Dennis PE.
Then was owned by Keith Nickols who lived in Thorpe Green, Surrey. Someone restored this appliance in the late 70s it was sold in the lat 80s and was in the Mountnessing Essex area about 2000 and was missing the escape and marked up with a local village name.
In 1981 it was in Benny Hill show on TV as Lower Tidmarsh FB.

By 2021 it was with Mason West in Faversham Kent. See
