It does seem a bit unusual to find a foam tender like this with a mid mounted pump. Looking at other foam tenders on this site, as well as elsewhere, it looks like almost all had a rear mounted pump. This seems to make sense, as foam tenders tended to have extra large water and foam compound tanks, which meant that access to maintain and service a mid mounted pump was not all that easy compared to a rear mount.

I took this pic on April 20th 1990 but when I went back there on October 8th 1995 I didn't see it although I seem to remember that it was still on site. I have no recollection of it being written off and I think that it was probably re-registered after disposal when it went into preservation. A great shame that such a superb appliance has been butchered into a beavertail.
