Extra wide bodywork to accommodate extra wide patients, but a lot smaller than a lot of these obese case medical transportation vehicles operated by other German fire services. Many are based on eight ton truck chassis. These do crop up in the US too, but as far as I know my local Chicago fire department does not have any, so its a good incentive to watch my weight!

Correct most of other German FD use a truck with a rear lift platform. In Stuttgart the Mass casualties bus can also be used to evacuate obese patients.
