EMX122 Leyland TLM/Metz 101' TL Willesden
the full complicated story of this is on another post here summarised from picture 2059
This appliance was delivered to Willesden Fire Brigade in the late 1930s, then served with the NFS and subsequently with Middlesex Fire Brigade. According to 'The Fire Brigade Handbook', it was destroyed in a fire in 1964; - this is not correct.
1980 victim of an arson attack in the place where it was kept (a pub car park) in Ponders End. It was, at that time, in preservation with the Enfield & District Veteran Vehicle Society, who had owned it since 1964. Middlesex FB took it out of service in 1963,
Fire damage confined to the rear end. The front end was undamaged and the vehicle fired up on the self starter with no problem. It could not be driven because of fire damage to the rear tyres. The Enfield Society then made the decision to "move the vehicle on" to a new owner - someone in Anglesey as a source of spare parts for another Leyland/ Metz which he owned.
2013 - EMX 122 in secure accommodation - it has suffered fire damage to the rear end although this appears relatively superficial - it has scorched the turret though so plenty of oil seals will be suspect - it was written off by the insurance company as 'beyond economical repair' so was sold as salvage .... as has been stated previously the owner passed away a couple of years ago ! EMX was then advertised for sale on behalf of the widow by the 'Leyland Society'

2021 under going restoration in Hertfordshire.
