A good example of contemporary design, although by then Leyland and Dennis were both building a lot of pump escapes with mid mounted pumps. This did have its separate hose reel pump in the centre, so it was not necessary to slip the escape to use a reel - and mounting two reels made it quicker to deploy the one nearest the fire.
