Dennis F108 pump Devon TDR999L

Right at the end of the slamshut era, though Devon continued for a while with the D series. This was owned at one time by Tim Rea who died in 2017.

Rather old fashioned even in its day, but it is an all-red real fire pump so a classic! Darlington had an almost identical unit, as well as a slightly older F106 with the AEC 470 six instead of the Perkins 510 V8. This had the notorious reverse layout five speed gear shift, which led to some loud noises and red faces from time to time….

Fife was the same in the 70's and 80's with their Dodge's while here in Tayside the bare Aluminium from the 1960's.

Devon actually had with these red hinged lockers on their early Dennis RSs too. See picture 4506
