This is a heavy LF8 on an 8 ton GVW chassis. It would have had a rear mounted PTO driven 800 LPM pump, no tank and a nine seat crew cab. LF8 pumpers also appeared on lighter 3.5 and 6.5 to 7.5 ton van and truck chassis, as well as on heavy 9 ton chassis in much more limited numbers. For many years a LF8 pumper was the normal first due pump turned out by Germany's 23,000 volunteer fire companies, so a very large number were in use!
