There seem to be two quite different approaches when it comes to deploying pods and transporters. In Amsterdam, for example, they are spread out across the city, with one transporter and a couple of pods at each of around twenty fire stations, manned on a drop-down basis by one or two members of the pump crew - which usually number six or seven.

In most German cities, they are concentrated at only one or a small number of locations, each with several carriers and numerous pods - well over a dozen at many stations! There are presumably benefits to each approach...

Ed: the London FRUs are due for replacement shortly with Euro 6 engines. Current ones are non compliant.
