mid 1970s Norman Tarling photo based Swindon. For full details of Haydon and Magirus TLs see picture 21044. See also picture 16551. This appliance dates from 1960 and was preserved at Wroughton around 1980.

This engine is now at Weedon in the national fire museam collection, still looks in great condition but not sure it's been out in public for many years. This machine took over in Swindon Central station from a 1943 Austin K4 merry weather TL in 1960. In the book Fire fighting in Wiltshire there are some great pictures of this engine at work in the drill yard and at a large fire in Swindon
