This very well presented Lincoln registered appliance was seen at the Banbury Steam Rally, Bloxham, Oxfordshire, England in June 2003.
Maybe a viewer could provide some details of its history.

Does anyone know how stable- or not- these appliances were, when on- road as opposed to off- road?

The Land-Rover BFE 516C was bought and owned by Ruston-Bucyrus Limited and kept at their Fire Station in their Lincoln works, on Beevor Street. It was still in regular use in January 1980 - beyond that date I have no further record. Great to see it survived into preservation.
