After languishing outside at the Kilbirnie station in Wellington awaiting a decision about its future, this 1986 Scania/Bronto/Carmichael that saw service in Christchurch (until chassis cracks saw its withdrawal) has been substantially re-engineered at significant cost. The chassis has been lengthened and an additional axle added. I am not too sure of the results. The appliance is destined to be based in Dunedin where it will act as relief aerial for the lower South Island. It was photographed in Christchurch during familiarisation training in July 2013.
