Bedford J4 - HCB Wrt KFK 946D
This appliance (nicknamed Doris) was ex Worcester City & County Fire Brigade, transferring to the West Midlands Fire Service with the transfer of Stourbridge fire station in 1974. It was the West Mids workshops who bodged on those awful "Dalek" blue lights. She passed into the ownership of a group of firemen (including myself) from Kidderminster in the early / mid 80's.
Sadly, mortgages and young families meant that she had to be sold again in pretty good condition. Does anyone know if she still exists?

Looks rather old fashioned if it was first registered in 1966, as indicated by its D suffix. But it is all red, which is excellent, and has no stripes, battenburg checks, chevrons or other multicolored decorations, all of which is even better! Let’s hope it is a survivor.
