Cubb Pathfinder RAF St Athan

A Chubb Pathfinder originally operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in service at RAF St Athan, south Wales.
When this photo was taken in 2004 the appliance was owned by Fire Vehicle Services and used as a loan vehicle.
NY/NJ PA owned several Pathfinders all of which were built in, or around, 1976.

The Chubb Pathfinder 6x6 airport crash tender was introduced in 1974, and had a number of new features, such as a central driving position and a huge roof mounted monitor capable of projcting 61300 litres of foam per minute.
The Pathfinder was built on a Reynolds Boughton 6x6 chassis and powered by a v6 Detroit diesel producing 635 bhp.
