Oldtimer Feuerwehr Zurich Saurer ladder

A 1939 Saurer 4C 30 metre ladder from the Feuerwehr Zurich, Switzerland. The bodywork was made by a Zurich company named Carosseriebau Gebr. Tüscher & Co. The ladder was built by Magirus. This unit was in service from 1939 until 1972. License plate ZH1243.

picture 33690 is a full view of the very elegant contemporary Saurer pump, with its unusual six door crew cab. Both were in service for over thirty years - evidence that its not only Swiss watches which last a long time!
