Feuerwehr Zurich Saurer Diesel oldtimer

Oldtimer Saurer 4C Diesel pump from the Feuerwehr Zurich Switzerland. This pump was built in 1939, and was in service until 1972. Bodywork was made by Carosseriebau Gebr. Tüscher & Co in Zurich. The pump was delivered by Diebold, Baden Germany.

Big crew cabs for up to a dozen firemen were not too uncommon in the thirties, but a six door cab was a bit unusual. The bodybuilder did a beautiful job on this Saurer and its Magirus stablemate. See photo # 33691 too...
