OVP 258 Bedford Pump Birmingham, UK.

Birmingham Fire & Ambulance Service. Just to add to your OVP 257, here's OVP 258. This Bedford has the same spec. Petrol engine, no power steering. 74 is Fleet No. The station no.8 signifies 'B' Division's King's Norton, Birmingham, UK. Taken on 35mm slide c1971 at Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham during displays/competitions. The ladders are the more usual configuration than your pic of the BG machine. I rode this too when Temp LFm c1970.
