Portuguese fire services operate lots of large urban tankers, because hydrants are often not capable of delivering adequate volumes of water for serious fire fighting. Setting into multiple hydrants is of course time consuming and requires a lot of extra manpower. So the tanker enables crews to get high volume jets to work quickly...
