Seagrave 100ft rear-mounted ladder at Tenhouse
This is a very prominent moment in which to reflect on the terrible events of 9/11 in New York, Arlington and Shanksville but everybody involved with the fire and rescue services worldwide will dwell on the unimaginable toll of members of the Fire Department of New York who paid the ultimate sacrifice whilst doing what they did best, rescuing thousands of people from the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.
In March of 2011, I visited New York and was given a warm welcome at all the firehouses that I visited. Especially poignant was my visit to Ten House by the side of the World Trade rebuilding site where I took a close look at the memorials both outside and inside the station and was very moved by their inscriptions. I have submitted pictures of these for consideration.
I was able to photograph Ten Truck's 2001 Seagrave 100ft rear-mounted aerial just as it left the firehouse. This shot of the driver's side compliments Lou Angeli's shot of the officer's side on picture 3661.
