Is this the one going around the country with Strongs bodywork?

Andrew. Looking at Volvo Trucks website this definitely appears to be Strongs bodywork with the appliance having some changes to striping and lettering.

Is there any truth in the rumour that North Wales has ordered 15 of the Volvos? I have heard this a number of times lately from FRS staff.

What volvo website did you see the information on? Does it also lilst the "specifications" such as length, width and such? Just looking for cab and chasis information. Also does anyone know if this is Volvo's "fire duty" cab and chasis or is it a "standard" cab and chasis that was heavily modified by Strongs? Lastly, who is Strong's? Thanks for any help with these questions.

Gary, NWF&RS have three new Volvo FLL/Emergency-One WrL's in the brigade at the moment. By all accounts, they are all going onto retained stations. A total of twenty-one are on order. An original order for twenty was placed, but PN04WKB was unfortunately rolled near Aberdyfi thus an extra one was ordered. One is around the Buckley area on driver training at the moment.

Whilst on the subject of concept vehicles, does anybody know if Scania are producing a turnkey appliance. The reason I ask is a new name (Fire Build) was used in reference to fire appliance on the Scania stand last year at Stoneleigh.
