More than half of the approximately 9,000 fire pumpers in front line service in France are brush pumpers.
Understandably, most of them are Renaults like this example, but there are also a lot of Unimogs, quite a few MANs and a few older IVECOs still in use. The hundreds of ex-US army GMC 6X6s which were once all over France are pretty much all retired by now.
The most common unit has a 6, 000 liter tank, but many much smaller units are also deployed, along with tankers up to 13, 000 liters on four axles.
