What a great photo, Joseph. The lighting is impressive.
The La France pumper has a La France 'Jox' Ladder next to it.
Both would have been arrivals during WW2 as part of the 'lend lease' program from the USA to bolster our fire fighting resources in Australia. The 100 foot ladder truck was based at Ballarat in Victoria after the war and driven all the way up to the museum. Most of the La France ladders ended up in Victoria. The Melbourne museum has the truck that was stationed at Geelong. There is also one in Perth and in the motor museum near Adelaide in South Australia. Word is that Sydney didn't want them as they were too long for the narrow streets.
