Miles rarely fitted front doors to these designs, which was especially odd considering the Commer was a full forward control chassis. But the design was also used for coaches, and had a slant six engine, which contributed to an almost flat front floor. This made access to the front seats from the rear much easier, although I always thought it was a daft idea, when a set of front doors would have been so much easier...
The Dennis F8s with Miles bodywork suffered the same inconvenience, without the benefit of the Rolls Royce engine laying flat.
