Further to picture 26018, here's the subject of the shot - GGK 946 - when it was still with London, and in use as a Training appliance when I took this one at Lambeth in 1963-64.
Thanks for sharing this picture with us Ian, a classic Dennis/Merryweather TLP from HQ Lambeth.Looks like another classic behind it also, from the 1950's its a AEC/Merryweather pump.Great B/W shot of the golden 1960's period.
Golden days of LFB. You're not wrong there Pete, not like today's boring fleet of Mercedes-Benz Atishoo's. We did a school replacement swap to London and a class from Croydon High School came to Rhyl and Blessed Edward Jones in Rhyl stayed in Duppas Hill Terrace behind H22, 1982, On one of the days I slipped the teachers and went to Croydon and went down the pole before the Safty Elfs killed my fun off. On another day, the class went to B22 as it was and saw AEC Mercury 2GM4R/Merryweather 100' TL CYE247C, Shelvoke & Drewry WX/CFE PL's YHV203T and YHV204T, Ford D 0810/Hawson CIU YHV182T and Dennis F108 PE's MHM451L and MHM452L around the back. The joy's of being away from home at 12.
