This is the front end with fire pump of the Merrywather stemer at the National Railway Museum York. If you look you can see the connectiog rods from the rear to the pump at the front.Both pictures were taken on 02/10/2010

Looks like this lay-out was designed to carry the crew in, as well....

Most North American 'Steamers' just seem to have the Driver; and Engineer behind, hanging on for dear life...

Love seeing anything, on the old "Steamers' here.
