Yes Chris....it was from the training school, not the airport itself, the appliance next to it looks like the Durham (ex Darlington) ERF Pump Escape.
The airport was a great venue, shame it is not possible to return there!

if I remember that one of the local radio DJ's was placed in the cage and raised up so he could throw some 7" single records to the crowds as well as doing some publicity for there station I think there were one of the sponsors of the rally that year..
