Fire Engines Photos

Also see picture 20870, a shot of this appliance at the Stoneleigh Emergency Services Show in Nov. 2009. One very nice looking vehicle! Does anyone know if Plastisol has a website? And are there any other fire trucks mounted on Renault Master chassis with tandem rear axles?

Has anyone seen this appliance? After photographing her in Rhyl, she has never entered service and has vanished into thin air.

Seen the old Merc/Saxon 3 times since, perhaps it the same a the Bremachs and MAN WrL's, ill conceived.

We know about the Bremachs (how are they doing?) but what about the All Wales pumps? I have not heard any comments although I did notice that North Wales have some narrow pumps on the way.

MAN's gearboxes unloved, 135 ladder has to have heelbar attached before use and they top heavy allegedly.

I heard that North Wales has gone on its own, Wonder if this ICU is like the Lancashire mobile fire stations very under powered and to heavy.

Hi Neal. The new Volvo pumps are wonderful. Two are on the run at 01 Caernarfon and 35 Ruthin. All the Bremach's have returned to the Brigade.

They still got the "box" rear bodywork though haven't they Andy? Seems strange when South Wales and Mid&West Wales don't use this body. It makes a appliance very top heavy. The "all Wales pump" project appears to have been quietly dropped. Have to agree the new Volvos appear great, hope they don't have many teething problems!

South Wales and Mid & West Wales use John Dennis bodywork and North Wales have opted for Emergency-One for the new Volvos. No teething problems to speak of at the moment

Emergency-one make "normal" bodies for everyone else though don't they. South Wales Mercs/Scania/MAN seem a lot more stable with the ladder well for the 13.5 ladder, plus they dont need a degree in mechanical engineering to slip and pitch it!

I last saw this ICU on a industrial estate in mochdre near colwyn bay last year but K89 SCC still in place at rhyl
Anyone know anything else ?
