voluntary Brigade of Birsfelden's command vehicle
Another interesting vehicle of the voluntary Fire Brigade of Birsfelden (near Basel, Switzerland). This Toyota Landcruiser Linea Sol 3.0 was one of the first appliances on this wheelbase in Switzerland. The vehicle is used as a combination of command car and tractor for the different trailers of this Fire Brigade e.g. boat trailer, transport trailer, illuminating trailer and the big trailer with a oil barrier. The Toyota carries fire extinguishers, specific disaster literature such as plans of factories and is equipped with mobile phone and radio set as well. Part of the equipment are also binoculars for observation of the spread of oil pollutions on the nearby river Rhine or drowning persons during a rescue operation.
