Picture of Dennis Low Load 60/70HP fire appliance
This picture given to me by Ben Hawkins shows a 1930 'Low Load' Pump Escape. It is fitted with the 60HP four cylinder White and Poppe engine but has the luxury of an electric self starter rather than hand crank. It has a Dennis Number 3 pump at the rear and was originally fitted with a 60 foot escape ladder.
It was supplied new to the Burton on Trent Fire Brigade and at the end of service it was then sold to the Bass Brewery at Burton.
I would be interested in seeing any other pictures of this appliance especially when it was in service.
