Clwyd's Bedford J HCB-A ET/CU LUN 221FAn ex Denbighsire appliance acting as control for the Cynwyd mountain fire this is Wrexham's ET in 1976. The crews called it the breadvan because of the shape and the rather indifferent performance. The red and white chequered flag is a nice old fashioned way of designating control units. The front was painted DayGlo, a paint from the Dane Group of companies in Stratford London E15, used quite a lot in the era before appliance striping. see also #20445, another DayGlo.
