Commercar Fire Engine by Henry Simonis & Co London
Photo 2 with kind permission of Station Officer Charles Easter (Rtr) Western Australia Fire Brigades. This incredible example of early British Fire Engineering is currently stored by its private owner in Perth. The vehicle is fully operational and although not depicted in the two photos, still has the original extension ladder, foot bell, rear mounted pump and other equipment. On Photo 1 the fireman figurine atop the radiator cap is not original but a later addition by the owner. The vehicle still has the original electric lamps but the reflectors have been polished back to the brass. It is a Z-style chassis, chain drive with petrol engine. I would love our forum to supply more information about this beautiful piece of equipment.

Hi All, we would love to see more of this engine as we are the owners of the 1909 RC Shooting brake EC634, the yellow commercar in england. (Google images have pictures) This engine was mentioned just a short while back whilst we were on the London To Brighton run, it is our 100th year this year. Any info would be great

Pat and Garin Kelly, my apologies, am just checking my original posts, did not realize there were active comments awaiting replys! Firstly Pat, for some reason Photo 2 was never posted, I will dig it out and resubmit. Garin, what a pity I couldn't get a reply off to you in 2009, never mind though, this fire engine is from 1910 so I'll do my best for you this year!!

I have some bellows with a brass plaque with the words Henry simonis & co fire engineers preoria works Walthamstow London NE. Any information on these please.
