Not the World's Fastest Fire Engine

The world's fastest fire tender is closely linked with the world's fastest car. Until the 1990s, this Jaguar XJ12 was the record holder, having been donated by Jaguar to Richard Noble and his team to support the Thrust 2 land speed record attempt. Thrust 2 achieved a speed of 633mph in 1983, but Noble later set out to beat his own record with Thrust SSC, driven to a supersonic 763mph by Andy Green in October 1997. This project required an even faster fire tender, the Jaguar XJR in picture 20007. Both vehicles later served at Silverstone motor racing circuit before being placed on display in the Coventry Transport Museum.

Now the fastest fire engine in the world is the Nissan Skyline GTR which is used at a racing track in Germany.

The Jaguar XJ12 and the Nissan Skyline 'the world's fastest fire engines' - are you kidding?? The fire-fighting variant of the Boeing 747 has a top speed of 584mph! The DC.10 fire-fighter does 565mph and the IL-76 does 528mph - now that's fast!

Hi G-Tomm!LOL!!The firefighting variant of Boeing 747 was , as I know, in 1 for forestfire operations! And I think they withdraw from from that purpose, then they saw the bills for the fuel!!! And, it must have taken a lot of time to refuel it with water!
