I think these look the part and it's a real shame the UK doesn't have an equivalent machine ....

Thanks for this Matt, John, got it in one! Good performance, low centre of gravity and the usual attributes that go to make a good fire appliance!

Look, even has those Battenburg "chequers".
Health & Safety might get all torqued about the side-ladder, though; People might actually climb on top of the machine - a real no-no....

Impressive machine though.

'Elf n safety ? whatever next ?? do not enter burning buildings, do not drive fast .... i think that in certain aspects 'elf n safety should leave it to the pro's, in this case the fire service to decide what is safe instead of some fool in a suit saying no ....

Is it aiming the same way in Canada Pat_R-B

Best wishes to you mate from York, England .

Pat, I hated the stripes and it really should be red all over, but my mate John is younger than me and he likes stuff like that! His saving grace though is he knows the truth about most "modern" machines!

Cheers John ! No i agree red mostly but with a white front and the old South Yorks livery ......

I wonder what one would look like in the North Yorks livery John ?

Added by John Johnstone on 24 July 2009.
It would look just fine red all over young John! Mind you Chris Hall would insist on a bread van livery! lol! Seriously would like to see a Varley trialled here though, its got all the right attributes and seem popular with Ozz brigades.

It would look really good in full Cleveland livery, (stripes and all). Here it looks a bit over done, with the Yellow squares. There is white on this livery, but it's in the wrong place. Only the front should be white, and
the wedge shaped nose makes it go faster.

Chris, its saving grace would be the windscreen, theres so much glass its not worth the white! I might start a purists website soon that accepts pictures of red machines only!
