Tadcaster H551MAJ. Dennis/HCB Angus ET

Another visitor to the 1998 York Historic Vehicle Rally was Tadcaster's H551MAJ. a 1990 Dennis/HCB Angus ET.It is seen here at the Tadcaster stopping point. I always thought these were ugly little squat things compared to Cleveland's big ET's. But then I'm always based in favour of Cleveland's machines.

I used to drive one of these when I was stationed at Tadcaster fire station, they are little ugly things and with them being very short they used to bounce all over the road when travelling at speed over bumps.

Chris, if I remember rightly the design was kept small for rural access issues, they managed to carry a decent amount of gear in spite of this. And mate, they were all red!!

And John, they suffered greatly from not having any white on their livery lol!! I'm sure theres a picture of one with a private owner somewhere on this site.
