Chattanooga Fire and Rescue Quint HME

5/20/2009: CFD Quint 13. Well, this ought to fill up the side bar with American fire apparatus instead of the Euro-toasters! I found this Quint company in a parking lot of the local store, apparently getting food for supper. Chattanooga, Tennessee Fire Dept.s unk. year Central States Quint with an HME chassis.

Thank you for this Fireman, and your comments, are we to presume this machine can cook supper as well as fight fires then?

Sure it can cook! Just wrap up a big beef roast with 'taters and onions in a couple of layers of aluminum foil and put it on the hot manifold and bake away! My father-in-law actually did this on long trips when my wife was growing up. It does work, he said his car was a better cook than my Maw-in-law.

I like that Robert! Made me laugh!

Robert Duncan, thank heavens for some good ol' USofA humor at last! Fireman's been posting all these outstanding engines and trucks and no one from the 'Big A' is commenting, good to have you aboard brother!!

Pav, Uhhhh, Robert Duncan and "Thefireman" are one in the same. You didn't know that? It's just with this new format, it asks for my name and for some oddball reason, I put it.

Robert, why not just be Robert Duncan then?

Added by John Stott on 24 May 2009.
Naaarrrr,, anyone can be a Robert Duncan, but only one person can be,, the TheFireman!!

My sentiments exactly Pav! Well, I started out not necessarily wanting any Fire Chiefs of mine trying to limit my contributions. Yes, even in the USA, they would try that. Now that the coast is clear, I'll reveal my real name to the whole world. So there you have it, plus we Americans always prefer nicknames anyway,

Oh goodness! Another brash Yank, just like their fire appliances! lol! Keep posting Robert, it makes my day to see some of the contraptions you use over the pond!

Added by John Stott on 27 May 2009.
Contraptions? I love that! For doing the same basic job, our machines do look quite a bit different don't they. Toasters vs. contraptions.

Aye Robert but try pulling this through our towns and you would be really stuck! I had a time where I worked alongside USAF equipment and the differences in design were amazing,ie side mounted suction eyes, flaked hoses, but, as you rightly say, all to do the same job. I will stick with our toasters though!
