Seagrave Manufacturing has picked up many of the contracts that will not be -- or cannot be fullfilled -- by American LaFrance, like this 2000 gpm pumper assigned to the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Co -- or simply the Newark (DE) Fire Department.

Production was halted at their Charleston, South Carolina plant and American Lafrance had 60 days to file a plan that would appease its creditors, but the form missed that deadline and a subsequent deadline. For 6 months the company fell behind on deliveries of contracted appliances and many performance bonds were unable to be fullfilled. On July 25th 2008, American LaFrance emerged from Bankruptcy with a revised business plan to transfer the firetruck body building portion of the business to the remaining Hamburg, NY (formerly RDMurray Inc.) and Ephrata, PA (formerly Ladder Towers Inc.) facilities. As I understand it those plants were just recently re-tooled to build the ALF pumper and rescue bodies.

I got caught out previously on Cleveland - Tennessee; not Ohio, or, Teesside.
Thanks for the up-date on ALF's fortunes - the Series 700 was the fire-engine of my child-hood.
