Apart from some older Iveco-Magirus ladders, Unimogs are the only imported fire trucks in TFD's enormous fleet of vehicles.

They are also used as off-road rescues, and paired up with high capacity pumps and LHD hose layer bodies to relay large volumes of water in post earthquake situations - when mains can be totally destroyed and road surfaces rendered impassable for everyday fire trucks...
