DX07 LDL: M.A.N. 26.363 (6x2)/ANGLOCO. One of two BFCs recently bought by Staffordshire F&RS. This one is based at Cannock covering the south of the county. Sister DX07 LDK can be found at Cheadle to the north.(I must apologize for not fitting all of this beast into my viewfinder. Please blame trees and hedges, and not me!)

Hi pat. I'm not sure what it is on top. I was hoping that our knowledgeable friends might know.

Hi, As I am stationed at Cannock I can clarify what is on top for you; Pat is right, it is a pneumatically driven safety rail system for access to top filling; Will only really be used if it goes for bulk fill of the foam tanks

Thanks, Gesman - next question, how do you climb up on top - is there a ladder on the other side, or rear ?
Just curious, seeing pics of the latest apparatus, where the crews arenot allowed atop, for Health and Safety reasons.

Hi Pat, the ladder is fixed on the near side of the truck towards the rear; we have to ensure no one tries to go on top when in use as there are number of valves that release pressure up their - the tanker has a vacuum / positive transfer pump system aswell as a conventtional fire pump; quite a piece of kit

I believe that the main use of the one based at Cannock is to cover forest fires on Cannock Chase. Is this correct ?.
Also, some years ago Staffordshire F&RS had Bedford TM 4x4 water tanker, which I saw at Lichfield station.
Do you know what happened to it?

A second TM 4x4 water carrier was stationed at Kidsgrove in the mid 80's.

Vacuum/Positive tanker, that is why it is round. I thought this thing is a large truck to be caring the size tank it is. Vacuum tankers are very handy. What are the spec's on the tank and pump?
