Carmichael forward-control Land Rover

This old 109-inch Series III Land Rover with Carmichael forward-control conversion was a static outdoor exhibit at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, Warwickshire. No numberplates or brigade markings are visible so I can't identify it.

I think this is one of the former Gwynedd, N Wales, machines.

The registration of this vehicle is YDU 600S so I don't think it is ex-Gwynedd although it is to the same style. It was probably a British Leyland works appliance.

Amazing, what you could do with that Land Rover 109-inch chassis.

eg if you weren't getting along with the neighbors - there were several Armored Car versions - the Shorland[one Mark had a machine-gun turret!], the Hotspur, the Tangi, and the Army's very own "Piglet"......

Great rig - hope to see more details of it.

I can assure you that it is not an ex Gwynedd Moon Buggy. The mesh between the doors was painted red on all Gwynedd Moon Buggies and the roof didn't have the ladder loop on them. The blue light is different too. The following are the Gwynedd Moon Buggies affectionatly called by crews.

CCC 149 (KSU 927) Originally a Land Rover/Sun Eng LWB Series II. Stationed at Betws-y-Coed and converted in 1976 and reallocated to Conwy.

FFF 169. Originally a GPV at Dolgellau. Converted in 1976 and returned to Dolgellau untill the first production run model OJC285S arrived in 1978 and was reallocated to Pwllheli.

OJC285S. Allocated to Dolgellau in 1978 and replaced FFF 169 which was reallocated to Pllheli and replaced CCC 148 Land Rover/Sun which went to Blaenau Ffestiniog to replace FF 8721 Morwyn y Mynnyd (Maid of the Mountain).

PEY 238S. Allocated to Bangor as Rescue Pump in 1978 to replace leyland Terrier ET NJC789M which was converted to CIU and reallocated to Caernarfon. Transferred to Llangefni to replace land Rover RT REY165K which went to Caernarfon as CU to replace Fordson RYX 112.

PEY239S. Allocated to Caernarfon to replace CCC 128 Land Rover/Carmichael L4P which was reallocated to Amlwch. It to was transferred to Amlwch when Caernarfon recieved E543YEY.

I am desperately trying to locate the where abouts of ex Caernarfonshire, Portmadoc Land Rover CCC 127 (KSU 946). Does anyone know its location?
