FUSO Appliance Kathmandu
This photograph was given to me by a friend who was travelling in Nepal and came across this appliance in Kathmandu. In the background is Pashupatinath Temple, out of shot to the front is the Bagmati river and on it's banks the site of funeral pyres. Perhaps this machine is providing fire cover in that respect as there are a number of buildings adjacent. To me the appliance looks Japanese and I am guessing FUSO by make.

Agreed, the Japanese always tend to maintain their apparatus in premier condition. I can just imagine what this truck has been though in service at it's second home.

An early example of how some manufacturers built crew cabs by simply chopping the standard cab, and extending it with the addition of another pair of front doors.
This very economical solution is still to be found on most new Scania, Volvo and Renault fire apparatus, although in this case the upper front of the rear door frame has been modified - instead of adding a filler panel to the b pillar...

Fuso
Engines in Japan serve for 12 to 15 years only. Always kept in very good conditions.
Therefore, many are refurbished after their time and sold to other countries.
